MENU Socket Occasional Lamp is a weighty, heavy lamp cast from brass, and is designed to fit perfectly on the desk, shelf or a nook in the home that needs to be lit. The inserted socket is easily removed, so that – with or without a bulb – the lamp also functions as a paperweight. The lamp is inspired by Norm Architects’ recent work with geometric jewellery and represents part of a study exploring the boundaries between minimalist sculpture and practical everyday objects. They aim for geometrical purity and want to arrive at the maximum expressivity with the minimum of expression. Their design is about soft, streamlined shapes that invite you to touch them.
