Born in 1981, Laura Straßer lives and works as a porcelain designer in Berlin and Weimar. The designer received her degree from the Bauhaus University in Weimar, where she founded her studio in 2009. Her studio focuses on porcelain and ceramic designs and had worked on numerous projects and products, which were presented at international shows and fairs. As reflected in her works, Laura Straßer values a balanced interplay of applications staying true to the material and with aesthetic value. She believes that fine porcelain is a tribute to and an appreciation of the meals, the cook and the time spent together. She believes that it is those moments together with friends and family that enrich our lives and nourish our souls. Since 2013, Laura Straßer has been working as an independent designer and Brand Alliance Manager for KAHLA/Thüringen Porzellan GmbH. Her designs received several awards including the Good Design Award Japan. Besides Studio Laura Straßer, Laura Straßer is also part of the design label frenchknicker, founded in 2006 with her colleague Milia Seyppel.
